The Footballer Who Pocket £4MILLION This Year Without Kicking A Ball

Malouda would be released by June 30

This time last year he was still celebrating Chelsea's Champions League triumph after coming on as a substitute against Bayern Munich.

Yesterday the forgotten man of Chelsea's historic victory against Jupp Heynckes' side in the Allianz-Arena was isolated and alone at their Cobham training centre.

Malouda criticized Di Matteo's training system and eventually lost his coach favour
There are echoes of Winston Bogarde, the £50,000 a week Dutch defender who was ordered to train with the youth in his final season at Chelsea in 2004.
Bogarde commuted from his home in Amsterdam and reported each day at Chelsea's old Harlington training centre to fulfil his contractual obligations.
This time it is the player from France, Florent Malouda that is at the centre of ths story.

Teammates backed Di Matteo's decision to relegate Malouda
Malouda's contract at Chelsea, which is worth £80,000 a week, does not end until June 30 and it is possible he may even be ordered to train until then.
Chelsea's under-18 team, who lost the FA Youth Cup final against Norwich, and the Under-21 Development Squad have packed up for the summer.

Malouda celebrates with teammates after glorious Champions league win

The response, which was taken at boardroom level, was to order the France international midfielder to train with the Development Squad in another area of Chelsea's training ground.

Chelsea's hardline stance has cost them just over £4m in wages, but the football board maintain they made the right decision when they stripped Malouda of his first team privileges.

His locker was cleared and his car parking space was allocated to another player when he was sent to train with the academy.

Incredibly his attitude has remained first class, passing on tips to some of Chelsea's young players as he saw out the last few months of his contract.
Nathan Ake, who made his first start for the senior team against Everton on the final day of the season, along with highly-rated young players such as George Saville and Todd Kane have all benefited from his advice.
He will eventually leave as a Champions League winner, but it's not the way he wanted to go out after six years at Stamford Bridge.

Lagos State Government Begins Work On 4th Mainland Bridge

The Government of Lagos State Nigeria has started the initial phase of the construction of 4th Mainland Bridge, a 26km state of the art bridge designed to link Ikorodu to Eti Osa Local Government Area.

In an interview with THISDAY, Lagos State Commissioner of Works and Infrastructure, Dr Obafemi Hamzat disclosed that there was no problem on the development of the project contrary to speculations that it had been abandoned.
Hamzat, who once served as the state Commissioner for Science and Technology, explained why full work had not commenced on the proposed bridge linking it to a good number of buildings, which he said, would be affected if the old alignment was the state’s preferred option for the right of way.

He explained that the old alignment “is becoming a bit cumbersome because of the number of buildings on the right of way. It might be extremely destructive if we want to follow the old alignment. We might probably need to destroy a lot of good buildings. This option is not fanciful to us. So, we have to look at another right of way.”

He, therefore, acknowledged that consultants “are working on the new right of way. We will look at the cost-benefit analysis of the alignment that will be cost-effective. We are considering if it is better to pay compensation than going through another alignment. The experts are already working on it, and the report will come out soon.”

Hamzat categorically clarified that there was no problem, though explained that people “may not see the physical work at all for now. A bridge is not what we can jump in there and start to build. Then, we will be able to commence full work. But internally, a lot have been going on. The preliminary work has actually started.”

The commissioner, however, declined to give timeline for the completion of the project, citing different issues, which he said, needed to be resolved before the state government could commence work on the bridge in full scale.

He explained the need to meet all the stakeholders and people whose buildings would be affected in order to discuss the issues of compensation and resolve other issues that might lead to litigation while developing the infrastructure.

At this instance, the commissioner said it might be difficult “to determine. That is the truth of the matter. If there are 50 buildings on the right of way, we have to determine their cost. We also need to talk to people that will be affected.

“The fact that the state wants to pay compensation does not mean somebody will not go to court. So, we need to engage internally without people knowing what is happening. We need to know the owners of the buildings. We need to talk to them and arrive at a conclusion. So, it depends on how responsive the people are,” he said.

Alex Ferguson's Last Chewing Gum Sold For $600,000

A wad of gum, rumored to be the last piece of gum ever chewed by legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson, has sold on eBay according to The Metro for a cost fee of N94, 000,000.

A supporter appears to have scraped up the infamous gum from The Hawthorns after sunday's Fergie finale between his Manchester United side and West Brom.

The fan then put it on internet auction site eBay in a bid to land some cash for charity, although no one can have foreseen it would have brought in just
shy of £400,000.
Fergie has been a ravenous chewer over the course of his 26 years in charge at United and would presumably have got through a fair bit of gum during the crazy 5-5 draw which saw his reign come to an end.

Imagine $600,000 for a used piece of chewing gum being auctioned as a "sporting" item on eBay!

Devastated families are frantically searching for young children trapped under the rubble of an elementary school that was flattened after a monster two-mile wide tornado roared through Moore in Oklahoma, leaving dozens dead.

Initial reports said as many as 91 people across the suburb south of Oklahoma City could have been killed in the tragedy, but officials confirmed on Tuesday morning there have been 24 deaths, including nine children. They explained that some had been counted twice amid the chaos.

85% of Jobseekers Cannot Write CV

According to a leading job-search engine, Jobberman, the reason jobseekers don't get jobs has been attributed to applicants’ CVs being the major setback for getting jobs.

The research was carried out based on the observation that only a handful of job-seekers get interview calls for every  application made while the larger percentage make several applications yearly and are still without jobs.

Arguably; the economic shift, rise in demand for technologically inclined professionals, proliferation of online startups and surge in employment  mismatch leave many job seekers stuck in the job market because they lack the requisite skill set to adequately provide value to employers. Regardless, job-seekers overlook the importance of a resume being a candidate’s first pitch to recruiters.

Bill Gates Retakes World Richest Title From Slim Helu

Bill Gates is once again the world's richest person. The 57-year-old co-founder of Microsoft recaptured the title from Mexican investor Carlos Slim on Thursday, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, as the software maker hit a five-year high. It is the first time Gates has held the mantle since 2007. His fortune is valued at $72.7 billion, up 16% year-to-date.

Slim's America Movil, the largest mobile-phone operator in the Americas, has dropped 14% this year after Mexico's Congress passed a bill that could quash the billionaire's market dominance. That's helped erase more than $3 billion from the 73-year-old tycoon's net worth.

This is the first time since 2007 that Mr Gates has been declared the richest with his expanded personal fortune, dislodging Mexican mobile phone magnate Carlos Slim
